what we do
Futu is a Danish design studio with international experience, delivering unique designs, wayfinding, services, and concepts. We make a difference for people, businesses, society, and a sustainable environment. We have deep insights into target groups and future trends, and we’re not afraid to challenge, nudge, gamify, and experiment.
Services
We design concepts, wayfinding systems, brands, campaigns, graphic materials, services, board games, strategies, products, and digital solutions across industries and cultures. We excel at maintaining an overview and seeing the big picture – without compromising on detail and craftsmanship.
Design Thinking
We are driven by design and are experts in Design Thinking – not just theoretically but with 12 years of hands-on experience from over 100 design projects. Design can be incorporated in many new contexts. Design can be used as nudging, and strategically, it can be applied to develop new products, services, and processes.
Ambitious
We work with focus and passion. We are quality-conscious and unafraid to lead in order to deliver something unique. We are not afraid to experiment or even provoke if we believe it’s necessary to achieve a better result. Our motto is: Anything is possible!
Co-design
We are proud of our co-design processes because we put great effort into them. And we are humbled by the many results we have created over the years by working with fantastic people across different projects and industries. We achieve this through workshops, games & dialogue tools, and a wide range of other methods. In projects where this setup isn’t possible, we rely on our many years of experience with involvement.
Colors
We know a lot about colors, their meanings, and how to use them strategically. We also understand how difficult it can be to choose and combine them correctly. We have extensive experience in creating color systems, understanding what works for target groups, and how to use them strategically or highlight a brand.

We take pride in being a small, agile design studio, working with a wide range of clients across Denmark and Europe. We are proud that several of our projects have been recognized both in Denmark and internationally.
Futu comes from the word “Futura,” meaning future.
Futu was founded in 2011 in Copenhagen by architect and designer Ann Thor.

Ann Thor is a multi-creative designer, architect, and entrepreneur who has run her own design studio since 2011, where she leads all projects. In addition, she is an expert at the European Commission, JRC / Joint Research Centre, specializing in co-design and the design of EU harmonized waste sorting labels.
Ann is a specialist in developing concepts, services, strategies, and designs, often based on co-design.
Over the years, Ann has collaborated with several large companies, organizations, municipalities, and ministries, received recognition from the Danish Arts Foundation, been a finalist at the Danish Design Award, and participated in several international projects.
